The Reebok Floatzig X1 is a zippier offshoot of the brand’s daily trainer, the Floatzig 1. Like the original Floatzig, the super shoe version has zigzag geometry to provide soft and springy energy return. Sandwiched inside that unconventional midsole is a full-length carbon-fiber plate.

We sent the Floatzig X1 to RW+ member Justin Piercy for testing. Piercy, who lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, usually runs in Asics—he recently ran in the Superblast—and shared the X1 is only the second carbon shoe he’s run in. While he liked its speedy ride, he found some difficulty troubleshooting the X1’s fit. Learn all about it by watching the full episode.

On the last How Was Your Run?, we spoke with RW+ member Joseph Huber, who loved the New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 v14’s squishy ride.
