We made a point to not just hunt down the biggest discounts or the cheapest overall prices. Instead, we prioritized running shoes that we at Runner’s World have tested out and reviewed ourselves. So all of the shoes here are ones we recommend buying even at full price—but it doesn’t hurt to save.

The Ride 17 from Saucony works great for both everyday and long-distance weekend efforts, but it also serves as a plush option for slower recovery runs. Our wear-testers found it to be one of Saucony’s most comfortable options, with the updated midsole and sockliner immediately improving the feel in comparison to previous models.
Most noted how comfortable the Ride was even as they began to run longer. That said, the comfort didn’t make the shoe feel too soft either. Testers actually pointed out how responsive it felt and loved the energy return.
Brooks Glycerin 21 Neutral Running Shoe
If you’ve been searching for a comfortable, plush shoe for your daily runs, the Glycerin 21 is it. The shoe boasts a midsole that’s two millimeters thicker than the prior model for even more comfort.
Because of this, many testers enjoy the shoe as their go-to for distance runs. Similarly, many also turned to it for marathon training. Don’t expect to break any speed records, but your feet and joints will thank you.
Our recommendation for the best cushioned shoe that Asics has to offer, the Gel-Nimbus has a thick, comfortable midsole that reduces impact and keeps your joints comfortable even as the miles add up. The gel-infused midsole does offer some bounce as well and even comes with a pronounced toe spring for smoother strides.
That said, the main focus of this shoe is comfort. Every landing is soft, and logging double-digit mileage on hard surfaces shouldn’t have your knees begging for a break.
While Altra’s very own super shoe doesn’t stick to the classic zero-drop design the brand is known for, we love it all the same. The Vanish Carbon comes with an integrated carbon fiber plate that springs your foot forward and adds some serious propulsion to every stride.
In fact, many of our testers chose to use the shoe for half or full marathons due to the speed boost it offers. One thing to keep in mind is that some felt the shoe runs a bit small and narrow, so you may want to opt for a half or full size up.
With a ton of cushioning and a an internal J-frame design, the Arahi 7 is a perfect shoe for long runs and comfortable walks alike. The pair have the same classic high stack midsole like many other options from Hoka, but are designed with stability at the forefront.
In fact, our team rated them as the best stability shoe that Hoka has to offer. Testers particularly like the flat-knit upper with helps lock your foot in place.
Women’s Road Running Shoe Deals
The Omni 20 from Saucony comes with the same responsive PWRRUN cushioning as many of our favorite models from the brand. This lends comfort and, with underfoot support and a relatively wide base, makes the shoe a solid choice if you prefer some added stability. The upper is also quite flexible, which keeps the shoe from feeling too stiff.
Brooks Glycerin 21 Neutral Running Shoe
As we mentioned above, the Glycerin 21 thrives off its thick, comfortable cushioning and solid energy transfer. Meant mostly for daily runs and long distance weekend shake outs, the shoe is great for sparing your feet and joints from the brunt of the impact of your footfalls.
While the high stack and plushness might be intimidating for someone looking for a sturdier base, the wide bottom adds some much needed stability.
The updated version of our pick for Altra’s best daily trainer, the Escalante 4 is a remarkably simple zero-drop shoe. It doesn’t have quite as high of a stack as some of the brand’s other shoes, nor a integrated carbon plate like the Vanish Carbon. Instead it shines through its versatility.
It’s lightweight and comfortable enough for fast-paced short distance runs while also still having enough cushioning for slower, longer jaunts. Testers liked the bouncy feel and how free their feet felt in the wide toebox.
If you want comfort above all else, the Gel-Kayano 30 remains a great choice. The thick midsole has a plush squish that reduces impact and helps shield your joints.
The shoe is also a great option for anyone looking for a bit of added stability. An internal guidance system keeps your foot and stride in line.
lululemon Blissfeel 2 Running Shoe
This shoe specifically engineered for women’s feet is a great option for comfortable, long-distance runs that require some added support. The Blissfeel 2 was a major improvement on the first generation nearly across the board and cemented the brand as a legit running shoe maker.
Many testers felt that the shoe was fairly heavy, but that was more than offset by the pop and energy return that the midsole provided. While you won’t set any PRs, the shoe also won’t slow you down.
Men’s Trail Running Shoe Deals
For an almost unheard of 65 percent off at the time of publishing, the Endorphin Edge is the best deal we’ve found thus far on a solid trail shoe. In fact, the internal carbon-fiber plate and full-length rock guard make it great for going fast and treacherous conditions.
The shoe also has a wide toebox, which helps your foot splay for comfort and a better grip. Many testers noted how free their foot was and how close to the ground and stable this in turn made them feel.
The Caldera 6 from Brooks comes with incredibly soft and tall stack of cushioning for supreme comfort even when you’re running on gravel or hop-scotching between boulders. The shoe doesn’t have you just floating on a slab of squish either.
While the stack is high, the raised midsole wall offers stability. This is paired with a wide base that helps you maintain balance over uneven terrain.
Rated at the best overall New Balance trail shoe, the Fresh Foam X Hierro V7 combines a lot of key elements that make up a solid all-around sneaker. The shoes have a grippy Vibram outsole that is great for wet or sleek surfaces, a comfortable yet lightweight Fresh Foam midsole, and is made of a Gore-Tex fabric that is completely waterproof.
So essentially, the shoe comes with grip, comfort, and durability that should keep your feet feeling good through puddles, over rocks, and in any weather.
This pair of trail running shoes from Hoka doesn't have the same pronounced lugs that many other models have. While the shoes still does have lugs across the entire outsole, they are smaller and less toothy. This is so the shoe can seamlessly transition from trail to road and back again.
Instead of focusing on just one surface, the shoes are built to handle both while keep your feet comfortable on the road and still offering extra traction that will help you on the trails. Testers loved the responsive cushioning and recommend these shoes for longer, slower-paced runs.
Women’s Trail Running Shoe Deals
Brooks Catamount 3 Trail Running Shoe
With a quick feel and a rocker design, this trail shoe helps you work up a bit of speed. And the interior propulsion plate helps push you forward even on inclines.
The Catamount offers more than just lightweight responsiveness too. The tacky outsole grips well on wet surfaces (and it’s made of 25 percent recycled material).
For a zero-drop look on the trails, very few shoes perform as well as the Superior 6 from Altra. The outsole has deep, toothy lugs while the wide toebox lets your foot stretch out. Zero-drop shoes help promote a more natural gait, so in combination with more room to splay, the shoe gives you a real feel for the ground no matter the surface.
The Superior is also quite lightweight considering the cushioning and construction. In fact, you could easily use the pair for speed work one day and more technical trails the next.
Like we mentioned before, the Endorphin Edge is not only the best deal we’ve seen so far, it’s a great shoe for speed and uneven terrain. Something worth adding is how many testers loved the speed.
In fact, multiple testers specifically mentioned how they considered it to be a speed shoe considering the internal plate and general shape. Some feared the shoe gave up a bit of stability to achieve this, so keep that in mind if you are running a particularly treacherous route.
While we noted the Fresh Foam X Hierro V7 for its cushioning for the men's trail running shoe section, it offer far more than just foam. The shoe is one of the lightest and nimblest on your feet especially considering the high stack.
The Vibram outsoles are great for grip on any surface, and the upper is breathable enough to keep your feet from overheating on a long summer run.
