Editor's Note — May 22, 2025: After checking our favorite retailers and treadmill brands, we've updated our recommendations to provide the best deals possible. Thankfully, all of our picks are still ready and waiting for you to start shopping. Have a great weekend!

Memorial Day weekend is here, kicking off the start to summer. For those of us who are already sweating in the late spring heat, this is the perfect time to shop for a new treadmill. Consistency is king when it comes to realizing the physical and mental gains of running, but that isn’t going to stop Mother Nature from tossing a 90 percent humidity day at you when you’re supposed to be running tempo. While heat training can sometimes be vital, too much exposure to heat will slow you down and extend the time you need to recover. Having a treadmill will give you a little more control over your environment.

If you’ve been thinking about investing in a new treadmill this weekend, we’re compiling all the season's best deals, starting now and running through Memorial Day. Some of our favorite treadmill brands are already running deals the long weekend, slashing prices by hundreds of dollars. We’ll keep this story up to date as prices change throughout May, so keep checking in as you shop to find the best Memorial Day treadmill deals possible.

The Expert: I’ve logged hundreds of treadmill miles as a former Runner’s World test editor and NCAA Division I cross-country and track and field athlete. I’ve run on slat belt treadmills with five-figure price tags, sub-$1,000 treadmills, and a number of treadmills in between.

How to Shop For Memorial Day Treadmill Deals

How You’ll Use Your Treadmill

Not every runner needs a commercial-grade treadmill, but you should look for a motor with at least 3 horsepower if you want to run faster than a light jog. My current picks can reach at least 10 mph and an incline of at least 10 percent. Many deliver either exceptional speed or incline, so consider whether you prefer to move at a faster pace or like running uphill as you shop.

Interactive Workout Programming

Aside from the most affordable options (sub-$1,000 before going on sale), most treadmills now feature a digital display and wi-fi connectivity, allowing you to access a digital workout library with thousands of routines and/or stream entertainment as you run.

NordicTrack’s iFit program, for example, is a subscription service that includes workouts and unlocks the treadmill’s ability to use other connected apps. Meanwhile, treadmills like the Sole F80 and the Horizon Fitness 7.8 AT allow you to connect with third-party workout and entertainment apps without a subscription service.

Keep Your Eye on the Price

Prices for in-demand treadmills fluctuate, especially on major shopping holidays like Memorial Day weekend. With plug-ins like CamelCamelCamel and Vetted, you can track prices over time to ensure that the sale price you’re seeing is truly a bargain.

Best NordicTrack Treadmill Deals

Best with a Big Screen
On Sale
Commercial 2450

If you get bored easily while running indoors, NordicTrack’s Commercial 2450 is the treadmill that helps you transcend your living room or basement to enter the workout you’d rather be doing. One of our favorite treadmills right now, the 2450’s large 24-inch rotating touchscreen makes virtual trails and running routines as immersive as possible. You’ll need an iFit subscription (starting at $15 per month) to get the most out of it, but it’ll still do wonders for your favorite Netflix show without one.

Of course, a nice screen doesn’t mean much without a solid motor and running deck. Luckily, the Commercial 2450 lives up to the name. A gym-quality 4-horsepower motor can ramp up to a top speed of 14 miles per hour, and the 60 x 22-inch running deck feels very accommodating for various stride lengths. It rises to a maximum incline of 12 percent, and you can even run downhill to a gradient of -3 percent, giving you the whole trail running experience if you pair it with iFit and find your favorite real-world route.

Our Best Overall (Is On Sale)

Commercial 1750 Treadmill
NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill
Now 13% Off

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is our go-to treadmill recommendation, and it’s currently $500 off! The updated Commercial 1750 features a larger, 16-inch rotating touchscreen that now connects with streaming services like Netflix. You also get access to the iFit library and its myriad on-demand workouts, and you can design your route and make the treadmill follow along by adjusting its incline according to the terrain. The Commercial 1750 will adjust speed and incline to help you maintain a specific heart rate if you set a target for your workout.

The hardware isn’t quite as beefy as the 2450, with a top speed of 12 mph, but the folding design is top-tier, and it features a number of strong flourishes, including dual speakers and an “AutoBreeze” fan that matches fan speed to the intensity of your workout. Like the Commercial 2450, your investment is protected by a 10-year warranty on the frame and a 2-year warranty on parts and electronics.

Commercial 1250

NordicTrack’s entry-level mill, the Commercial 1250, is hardly barebones. Its 3.6 horsepower motor is just a smidge smaller than the one in the 1750, and can hit both the same top speed (12 mph) and incline (12% to -3%). The running deck is a touch narrower–20 inches–but it’s still 60 inches long, so it feels comfortable for longer strides. On the plus side, the more compact frame means the 1250 takes up less than 10 square feet of floor space when you fold it up. The most significant difference, frankly, is in the display. The Commercial 1250’s 10-inch pivoting touchscreen is pretty small, but you still get full iFit access and connectivity if you subscribe.

While the Commercial 1250’s official Memorial Day deal is smaller than the 1750 and 2450 (only $200 off), Amazon is dropping the price even further to $1,599. That’s not the cheapest on the list, but a very good price for a NordicTrack.

Best Horizon Fitness Treadmill Deals

Best "Hop on and Run"
On Sale
7.0 AT Treadmill
Horizon Fitness 7.0 AT Treadmill
Now 50% Off

Another top treadmill we recommend for those who just want to “hop on and run” without punching in a workout, the Horizon Fitness 7.0 AT is down from $2,000 to under $1,000 if you play your cards right.

Its top speed of 12 mph, powered by a 3-horsepower motor, should be quick enough for most runners. Incline runners should take note: The 7.0 AT can hit a best-in-class 15 percent incline. (Though it lacks a decline mode.) The 20x60-inch running deck is plenty roomy if you don’t wander side to side too much. Normally, I would gripe about the 7.0 AT’s lack of a touchscreen, but at this price, it’s less of a concern.

A Great Mill for $1,000

7.8 AT Treadmill

If you like the idea of using your treadmill to follow along with workout classes, but don’t love the idea of being locked into the treadmill’s subscription service, the Horizon Fitness 7.8 AT presents a novel solution: You bring the phone or tablet, and it keeps up. Like the resistance dial on a spin bike, the 7.8 AT uses centrally placed dials that rapidly adjust speed and incline. When your favorite instructor from Peloton or YouTube tells you to crank up the incline, you won’t fall behind as the motor catches up. You can also sync your treadmill data with third-party apps to track your progress.

The 7.8 AT justifies its $1,000 premium over the 7.0 AT with heavy-duty hardware and more deluxe features. The running deck is two inches wider—22x60 inches—and the motor goes up to 4 horsepower. And like the 7.0, it can hit that steep 15 percent incline.

T101 Connect

The Horizon Fitness T101 is our favorite budget treadmill. At $599— down from $999—it is easily the cheapest treadmill that we can wholeheartedly recommend buying during this sale. It isn’t as powerful as our other picks, topping out at 10 mph and a 10 percent incline. The running deck features three cushioning zones, with a softer section toward the front of the treadmill to provide the most shock absorption when you touch down. Toward the back, the T101 firms up to help you power off your toes to your next stride.

Senior Commerce Editor Cat Bowen found that the T101 surpassed her expectations when she tested one earlier this year. After folding and unfolding it, hooking it up to Zwift and playing podcasts through the Bluetooth speakers, Bowen characterized the T101 as having “a combination of easy-to-operate features, consistent performance, and enough versatility to appease most runners.” If you see yourself running at a slow to moderate pace, the T101 could be everything you need in a more affordable package than the competition.

Best Sole Treadmill Deals

Best Slat Belt
On Sale
ST90 Treadmill

After wishing for it last week, it looks like Sole has put the ST90 slat belt treadmill on sale just before Memorial Day weekend. Slat belt treadmills use padded, interlocking slats to provide a more natural sensation underfoot, while reducing the impact of running on your bones and joints. They're expensive, but also make running inside a lot more fun.

The ST90 is an elite treadmill, and not just because of the slat belt component. The 60x22-inch running deck offers room to move around while 15 incline levels help you dial up the intensity as needed. You can also stream third-party workouts or TV shows to the ST90’s 15.6-inch touch-screen display if you want to follow an instructor’s cues or just binge your way through a long run.

While it’s costly, nearly $4,000, the ST90 is one of the more affordable slat belt mills—many of which cost upwards of $10,000. It helps that slat belt mills have a reputation of reliability, and Sole backs up the ST90 with a 5-year warranty for the frame and motor, and a 3-year warranty for the deck and parts.

Best with a Lifetime Warranty

F80 Treadmill

The Sole F80 is a capable and intuitive mid-range folding treadmill. Its 60x22-inch running deck, 3.5 horsepower motor, top speed of 12 mph, and 15 levels of incline adjustment put it in line with treadmills that cost hundreds more. Sole didn’t skimp on quality, either: Each F80 has a lifetime warranty on the frame and motor.

Looking at the display, the Sole F80 features a 10.1-inch touchscreen display and connects to a variety of apps. In addition to Sole’s free workout library, Sole+, you can connect your music via Bluetooth speakers, pair the treadmill with the Peloton+ App to view your stats during a class, or pair it with a variety of compatible entertainment streamers like YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime.

The Sole F63 is another very solid but basic treadmill for runners who live without connected apps. It features a 6.5-inch LCD display to show your key workout metrics, but there’s no immersive touchscreen for video. (There’s a tablet shelf, though, so you won’t have to stare at a wall if you don’t want to.)

On the run, the F63 is nearly as capable as its bigger brother, the F80. It also tops out at 12 mph and a 15 percent incline, but it uses a slightly less powerful 3 horsepower motor and has a narrower running deck that’s 20 inches wide. If you can live with a slightly narrower running deck and less power, and you’d rather just use your tablet for entertainment, then you owe it to yourself to look at the Sole F63 as your next treadmill.
