I've been testing dozens over the past few months, and the one thing they almost all have in common is how pricey they are.
Thankfully, right now, there are some truly decent treadmill deals happening at retailers like Dicks and NordicTrack, so you can expect big savings on everything from high-end machines to walking pads. Now is also a great time to buy because it’s the peak time to start your treadmill training for fall marathons. So strap on your favorite running shoes, grab your water bottle and watch, and get that distance training done!
If you’re looking for a foldable treadmill that’s a genuinely great investment, the Sole F80 is a fab choice. Not only is it low-profile when folded and easy to put away, but it’s lovely to run on: It’s just the right amount of firmness, has a solid in-built system full of running programs and fun workouts, and is almost $1,000 off.

This is one of our favorite treadmills of the year. It's got a great feel underfoot, it’s simple to program and use, the arms are a great height, and I love how easy it is to fold up. I wish there was a better screen, but honestly, that’s not even close to a deal-breaker.

Sincerely, The Walking Station by WalkingPad for under $300? You need to get on this. (No pun intended.) It’s the Platonic ideal of a walking pad. You can use it with or without the handle, put it under a desk, and walk while you work, and it’s all super easy to adjust and use.

ProForm 2025 Carbon Pro 9000 Foldable iFit-Enabled Treadmill
Running on the Pro 9000 feels a bit like running in a theatre, given the large screen on the mill. It’s 20 inches of high-definition video viewing that, when paired with iFit, provides you with a really fun run.
As for the mill itself, I put it at the higher end for conditioning and shock absorption. It’s great for incline and decline training with a -3% decline to a 12% incline. I wish the arms were more ergonomic, but they’re still useful. The deck size is generous at 20x60 inches, so even taller runners can really kick out.

NordicTrack Commercial 2950 Treadmill + 30-Day iFit Membership
This is our favorite treadmill. The only reason this isn’t the best overall in this sale is that the sale isn’t as good as it is with the Sole.
This treadmill has the perfect middle-of-the-road cushioning, with enough shock absorption to make the run easier but not so soft that you feel like you’re running on marshmallows. The screen is easy to use and adjust for speed and incline. I love that the buttons are obvious and available, and you can pretty much use them without looking.

NordicTrack Commercial 2450
If you’re looking for something more premium than other choices on this list, let me introduce you to my baby. I mean, the NordicTrack 2450. I could write sonnets about this treadmill. The cushioning is luxe, but it doesn’t give you the “jelly legs” that other mills can.
The 22-inch screen is big and beautiful, and paired with iFit, you’re far less likely to get bored with your workout. (And if you don’t feel like working out with the team, you can always watch what I like—true crime shows.)
This mill has be smoothest speed increase and decrease and the least wobbly incline. It’s just one of the best treadmills I’ve ever run on.
