The stars came out Sunday night for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards—among them Boston Marathon champion Desiree Linden.
With her husband, Ryan, by her side, the runner traded her racing flats for heels and her shorts and singlet for a black dress as they hit the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. (She also wore her Boston Marathon medal.)
Later in the evening Linden, along with snowboarder Chloe Kim, who won a gold medal at the 2018 Olympics in women’s halfpipe, presented the award for top female artist.
The winner was global superstar Taylor Swift. When Swift took the stage, she towered over the two athletes—Linden is 5-foot-1, Kim is 5-foot-3, and Swift is 5-foot-10. Swift embraced both presenters with hugs before accepting the award.
Runners watching at home predictably went crazy.
Linden loved it, too.
