A man suspected of deliberating hitting a runner in Grant County, Washington, then returning to hit her again is in custody, The Spokesman-Review is reporting.
Saul Angeles Pamas, 23, approached runner Jackie Monney around 6 p.m. Sunday and asked her if she wanted a ride. She declined. Pamas reportedly turned his car around, drove back and knocked her down from behind. He then hit her again, dragging her a short distance, according to the report.
Pamas fled the scene, but later turned himself in, according to a press release from the Grant County Sheriff’s office. Pamas was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.
Monney escaped serious injury and was treated at a nearby hospital.
