  • A bull charged a woman as she was about to start her run on a trail in Maine.

  • No, it wasn’t an April Fool’s Day joke.

Holy cow! A 43-year-old woman was injured after a bull charged at her while she was preparing for a run on the Whistle Stop trail in Farmington, Maine, according to WMTV.

According to a police statement, the woman said she was “lifted off the ground by the animal’s horns but was able to escape into the nearby tree line.”

The woman required stitches from a laceration, according to the report. Though the incident was reported on April 1, the police department made sure to let the public know this wasn’t an April Fool’s Day prank in the statement.

Police told the media that “the identity of the owner is presently withheld pending possible charges as the case is presented to the district attorney’s office for review.”

The owner of the cow was contacted to secure the cow and a large pig, police said.
