Kipyegon, a three-time Olympic champion over 1,500 meters, currently holds the women’s mile world record of 4:07.64, which she set in Monaco in 2023. She also owns the 1,500-meter world record (3:49.04), and that time came at the same stadium in Paris where she will chase after sub-4 on Thursday.
