the running spirit should never go dry

Since my early years, I’ve always been drawn to fitness and being active. But it has really been in the last five years that I stepped into the world of running. Running gave me a rush that I had not experienced in the closed doors of the gym. Running outdoors in all weather has become a passion. I feel energized, alert, and stronger as I continue to build my stamina. I have become more conscious about my eating habits which also helps me stay fit. I had started off with a 5K and now I’m pacing myself comfortably in half marathons. I look forward to continuing to increase my stamina to train for marathons. Running has also become a family activity which we all look forward to doing together. I believe the key to fueling that energy is consistency. Come rain or shine, the running spirit should never go dry.

there is no stopping

As part of my overall fitness routine, running helps to boost my training. I love doing varied workouts which challenges me physically and makes me push myself further. Running blends in with my workout routines and I have seen myself grow stronger with increased endurance. I have seen myself transform over the years when I compare myself to the years when I used to workout only in gym, versus now, combining running with my workouts. Running has given me a greater sense of satisfaction and has made me realize that if you set your mind to something then there is no stopping.

the absolute silence

I love running the route right behind my house which leads to corn fields. It is exactly a 10K loop in the middle of corn fields where all one can hear, and experience, is nature at its best. It brings me closer to the outdoors in all seasons. The absolute silence with no hustle and bustle really calms my mind after a busy day. It is one hour where I am fully disconnected from all technology.

Favorite gear

The Fitbit Ionic offers all sensors and round the clock health monitoring. I also like that it has a long lasting battery for five days between charges. Also, Atreyu running shoes.

    fun fact

When I am not running, I love cleaning. My wife says I am obsessed. It is probably OCD to see things in place and wipe all my counters down until they are sparkling clean.

    run goal

To run a faster half marathon and train myself harder to be able to participate in a marathon.
