There are front flask pockets (designed for 500ml Salomon soft flasks), three secure zipped pockets (ideal for keys and phone), an expandable back compartment, extra zipped back pocket, and a wide tunnel pocket which you can access from either side. Elastic ties that you can attach to the back add even more storage for walking poles.
Honestly, I wear my vest every week — it's one of the best-fitting pieces of running gear I own. I would recommend sizing down, though. I typically wear a M in apparel, but I wear an S Salomon vest.
