A runner broke his leg on the South West Coast Path yesterday morning.
Members of the Lyme Regis Coastguard team were contacted to assist the South Western Ambulance Service in locating and extracting the runner from the path, about three kilometres from Golden Cap, a hill about four miles east of the coastal village of Charmouth. They were taken to the injured man by his friend.
A spokesman for the Coastguard team told Bridport and Lyme Regis News: ‘The team assessed the casualty and carefully “packaged” him to minimise any movement to the broken leg and ankle.
