- Olympic gold medalist, Tom Daley, just ran an impressive 5K PB.
- The Olympic diver recently returned from Tokyo, where he won a gold medal in the men's synchronised 10m platform and a bronze in the men's 10m platform.
As part of his recovery from his Tokyo Olympic medals, Tom Daley shared that he went for a 'nice gentle jog' along the river. Speaking on his Instagram stories, Daley said he realised he was going a little faster than normal, so decided to try and beat his 5K time.
Running the distance in 19 minutes and 51 seconds, Daley shared that he was 'absolutely buzzing' to run his first sub-20 5K. His average pace was 3:58 min/kilometre, which is a 6:23 minute mile.
Daley arrived back in Heathrow earlier this week after becoming the first British diver to ever win four Olympic gold medals. Speaking to BBC Sport at the end of the Games, Daley said, 'I'm so happy. Back in May I didn't know if I would make it to the Games. If someone had told me then I'd win a gold and a bronze I would probably have laughed in their face.

'I'm extremely happy with a gold and a bronze and I'm so overwhelmed with all the love and support back home.
'It was close all the way through (the final) with the Chinese pair but they pulled away from me in the fourth round.'
It's not just Daley's diving that made headlines this Olympics, but his knitting on the poolside. Daley was spotted knitting a Team GB Olympic cardigan during the games, which he has since auctioned, raising £20,576 for The Brain Tumour Charity. Daley lost his father to brain cancer in 2011.
