Few people know Boston during marathon weekend quite like Des Linden. The 2018 Boston Marathon champion will be making her 10th appearance on the start line this Monday. She knows the ins and outs of the city and—perhaps more importantly—knows how to balance enjoying the weekend with getting ready to race on Monday.
“You just have to plan your schedule accordingly because you can be on your feet for way too long,” Linden says. “So set yourself a schedule and stick to it and get off your feet when the times up”
Linden chatted with Runner’s World about where you’ll see her this weekend getting a shakeout run in, her routine the morning of the race, and her favorite—and least favorite—parts of the Boston course, among other things.
