Hi, Team.
In this episode of The Amazing Runner’s World Show, Jeff is joined by news director Andrew Daniels to answer a question from RW+ member Mark Tucker, from Phoenix, “If I run on a treadmill two days per week and outside the other two days in the early morning, will I be adequately trained?” (Here’s an article on more expert-backed advice.) Plus, we talk about how some pros are using Strava to play games with their competitors and how you can look at their training to apply workouts during your own race prep. And, finally, we give you a sneak peek at the new Normatec Elite compression boots. RW+ members can watch the full episode below.
Thanks for watching. And be sure to leave a comment or send us an email at [email protected] with any questions you want answered or topics you want us to address in future episodes.
In the previous episode of The Amazing Runner’s World Show, Aly and Jeff answered a member’s question, “Should you wear speed shoes or recovery shoes during a race?” Plus, we talked about various strategies for pacing yourself in a race, including pace bands, referencing a pace chart, and using a pace calculator to know how fast you should be running. Jeff always recommends the 10-10-10 pacing strategy for marathons. We took a sneak peek at the new Rabbit Dream Chaser shoe. And, finally, Jeff talked with his Central Park Track Club teammate Rob Gill about an incredibly helpful way to find your bag among the thousands at large races like the Brooklyn Half Marathon. RW+ members can watch the full episode now.
Jeff is Runner-in-Chief for Runner’s World and the director of product testing. He has tested and reviewed running shoes, GPS watches, headphones, apparel, and more for nearly two decades. He regularly tests more than 100 pairs of shoes each year, and once had a 257-day streak running in different models. Jeff can usually be found on the roads, racing anything from the mile to a marathon, but he also enjoys racing up mountains and on snowshoes. When he’s not running, you’ll probably find him hanging from a ladder making repairs and renovations to his house (he’s also director of product testing for Popular Mechanics).
